The Renaissance Center is excited about the new Theatre Apprentice Program. Students who have been selected for this program work as apprentices with the Theatre Department at The Renaissance Center through the next year, under the direction of Pacer Harp, Producing Artistic Director of Theatre, and the Theatre Department Staff. They will perform in and work behind the scenes on theatrical productions for field trips visiting the center as well as assist with productions in the Gaslight Dinner Theatre and the Renaissance Players community theatre series. This season's program is a perfect opportunity for home-school students to participate and expand their education in the arts. An additional program will be offered in the summer so regular students will be able to attend. “Our newly formed Apprentice Company will give students a chance to experience the day-to-day requirements of being part of a professional theatre company,” Harp said. “These apprentices will be rehearsing and performing in multiple plays and working behind the scenes to prepare the productions, while being tutored by our staff of Theatre professionals.” |
