The Renaissance Players is the center's community theatre troupe. With more than 400 members, the Players present productions each year that include popular musicals and plays. Shows are cast through open auditions and performances are presented in the center's 450-seat Performance Hall. The Renaissance Players provides Middle Tennesseans with an opportunity to work with the professional directors, actors, technicians and craftsmen from The Renaissance Center to present productions comparable to most professional theatre companies.

To Kill A Mockingbird

Set in Alabama during the Great Depression, To Kill a Mockingbird follows the journey of Jem and Scout Finch, whose father has been appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man framed for a crime he didn’t commit. As the trial progresses, Jem and Scout witness their community in a tense tug of war between justice and racism. This timeless classic compels us to take an honest look at our nation’s past and our moral responsibility to each other.

The budding romance of Trenton and Mary is jeopardized when a flying saucer lands in Milwaukee. The craft is piloted by Zombina, a buxom alien aviatrix bent on procuring he-specimens to populate her planet. Can Mary uphold her lady-like demeanor while using her facile intelligence to save Milwaukee from a flying saucer invasion? Can plucky delivery boy Billy ever get secretary Charlene to notice his tap-dancing charms? Can the stalwart men of Milwaukee survive brainwashing by a musical menace from another world? This dead pan, dead on musical comedy brings the 1950’s nostalgically to life!
