Bryan J. Wlas (Resident Choreographer/Adjunct Dance Instructor: Tap, Jazz, Ballet/Associate Director - Theatre) A native of Illinois, and a graduate of Millikin University with a BFA in Musical Theatre and Dance minor, Bryan has been involved with the Renaissance Center's Theatre Department since 2005. He has directed several shows here, including Once Upon a Mattress, The Homecoming, Night of the Living Dead and Annie Jr. Bryan has choreographed and performed in over 25 productions for the Theatre Department. Favorites include A Chorus Line (Bobby), A Grand Night for Singing (Martin), Cats (Mistoffelees), Annie, The Music Man and Snoopy!!! (Snoopy). He has directed, choreographed and performed inshows for regional theatres around the United States, including Bigfork Summer Playhouse (Montana), Round Barn Theatre (Indiana), Lees-McRae Summer Theatre (North Carolina), Bearcreek Farms Resort (Indiana), Tweetsie Railroad (North Carolina) and McLeod Summer Playhouse (Illinois). Dalton Akins (Clogging) Dalton is a national clogging champion who started clogging competitively at age 3 and took home the Old-Time Fiddlers’ Championship clogging title at age 15! He has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry stage with the Opry Square Dancers and was a Half Time Performer at the 2003 Music City Bowl. Dalton has taught at Miss Amy's Competitive Edge Dance School for 4 years. His awards include: 2010 Outstanding Dancer at Stage One Production Competition; Title Winner 2006 and 2007 - Teen Mr. Dance Explosion, Nashville, TN; 1st Place High Score Solo Division Dance Explosion, Nashville, TN; Grand Champion Clogger, 2008 Clarksville Fiddlers Jamboree, Clarksville, TN; Grand Champion Clogger, 2007 Old Time Fiddlers Jamboree, Holladay, TN, among many others. Dalton's passion is music and dance, including all dance styles and techniques. He also is in a rock band called Backyard Brigade. |

Alaina Runions (Creative Dance & Movement, Ballet, other styles of dance, Intro to Theatre) Alaina Runions received her Bachelor of Science in Theatre and Dance from Austin Peay State University. While at APSU she performed and danced in many productions including Phantasos: A Nutcracker Story, Pippin, Cabaret, and Little Shop of Horrors. She recently presented a piece called Mold: The Domestication of Human Beings at the American College Dance Festival that was chosen for performance in the gala concert. She is the Co-Director and dancer in Modern Love Dance Company, and plays a multitude of found instruments with her band Joe and the Deer. Alaina is very excited about joining the faculty at the Renaissance Center. |
