cybersphere_interiorA minimum of 25 students is required to schedule a CyberSphere show, Faraday Science Theatre show or Mind Enriching Theatre (MET) series play that is not already booked. Smaller groups may combine with a field trip already on the schedule. Additional adults, accompanying school groups, must be counted in the total number to take advantage of group pricing. For all other organizations, please contact the field trip office for pricing. For a group to reserve seating in a show venue, a completed contract or submitted deposit is required.

Performance_Hall_from_Balcony-smGroups that choose to eat lunch while at the Center, should provide their own sack lunches. Two lunchrooms that seat approximately 140 students each can be reserved for a nominal fee of $15/hour. If the weather is favorable, there are also outdoor lunch options.

Free attendance to show venues is extended to teachers and Special-Ed aides with the following restrictions:

  • The Renaissance Center extends this offer to teachers licensed by their state and any Special-Ed aide employed by the same school to assist the teacher attending the field trip.
  • Free admission for teachers is applicable only for approved school field trips, taken during school hours in a school‚Äôs academic year.

Parents and additional adults, who are planning to attend with a school group, must be included in the reservation totals of that school group. Payment for these adults must be included in the school check or in a single separate payment transaction. The front desk will no longer accept individual payments from adults attending as part of a field trip group, and seating with the field trip group cannot be guaranteed. It will be the responsibility of the booking school to have their parents sign up and prepay in order to join their children's field trip group.

Additional information:

  • All field trips to the center must be scheduled in advance. Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to schedule your trip well in advance.
  • Admission to the center is $3 - $4 per scheduled event, per child. Free attendance is extended to one teacher per ten students. The Renaissance Center extends this discount to the following persons: teachers licensed by the State of Tennessee attending with a school approved field trip and any special-ed aide employed by the public school system to assist a teacher. Free admission for teachers is applicable only for approved school field trips during the academic year. Additional adults/parents will pay the public admission price to the venues chosen.
  • Allow one hour per event.
  • Cancellation of a field trip, due to inclement weather, should be made no later than 8:30am the day of the field trip, so as not to incur further charges in the rebooking process. Cancellation, for any other reason, does not exclude the school/organization from a percentage payment, if made less than a week prior to your visit.
  • Schedule of Visit: Due to our booking process, your shows may not be seen in the order selected. We will make every effort to ensure that you see the programs chosen within your time allowance.
